How automation rules work

Updated 18 October 2026

A rule watches new comments, new DMs, or both, and acts when one matches.

Triggers

  • Keyword: the comment or message contains a word, for example INFO.
  • Pattern: a regular expression, for more precise matching.

You can limit a rule to certain platforms or certain connected accounts.

Actions

  • Reply with fixed text.
  • Reply with AI, following the business instructions you write for that rule (prices, opening hours, links).
  • Add a tag, assign it to a team member, or mark it read.

Limits every rule runs under

  • At most one automatic reply per comment or message, even when several rules match.
  • Nothing older than 24 hours gets an automatic reply.
  • Comments and messages written by your own account never trigger a rule.
  • When a newly connected account sends a lot of automatic replies in a day, you see a warning so you can slow down.

The rules screen in the dashboard is being built now and arrives during the beta.
